Major Genetic Determinants of Extended-Spectrum Β-Lactamase (ESBL), Carbapenemase, Fosfomycin and Colistin Resistance in Escherichia Coli from Intensive Care Units

نویسندگان

چکیده

Escherichia coli (E. coli) strains placed in predominant nosocomial bacteria intensive care units (ICUs), resulting severe drug-resistant infections. Non-susceptibility to β-lactams and last-line drugs such as Fosfomycin Colistin cause limited availability of infections eradication. The objective this study included the determination genes encoding extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL), Carbapenemase, Colistin, resistance clinical isolates E. ICUs. A total 200 were identified from ICU settings. CTXM-1, SHV, IMP OXA-48 detected for β-lactamases using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. fosA3 mcr-1 mcr-2 also against Colistin. CTX-M1, 60 (30%), 56 (28%), 28 (14%) 4 (8%) isolates. none had genes. Despite existence third-generation antibiotics Carbapenemase s, any More studies are needed follow last-resort antibiotics.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profile of Extended Spectrum β-Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Escherichia coli from Various Clinical Samples

BACKGROUND Extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing Escherichia coli has tremendously increased worldwide and it is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality associated with hospital-acquired infections. This could be attributed to association of multi drug resistance in ESBL producing isolates. The present study was aimed to determine the antimicrobial sensitivity profile ...

Comparative possession of Shiga toxin, intimin, enterohaemolysin and major extended spectrum beta lactamase (ESBL) genes in Escherichia coli isolated from backyard and farmed poultry

The present work was conducted to compare the occurrence of Escherichia coli possessing virulence and ESBL genes in backyard and farmed poultry. Three hundred and sixty samples from the poultry kept in backyard system and 120 samples from the farmed birds were collected from West Bengal, India. Among the E. coli isolates of backyard poultry (O2, O10, O25, O55, O60, O106, UT), none of them posse...

Fecal carriage of Escherichia coli harboring extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) genes by sheep and broilers in Urmia region, Iran

Background: There is a growing concern on the impact of the presence of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing Escherichia coli isolated from animals on public health. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of three classes of ESBL genes in E. coli isolates from sheep and broilers at a slaughter in Urmia region, Iran. METHODS: A total of 111 E. coli isolates w...

Identification of extended-spectrum β-lactamase genes in Escherichia coli isolated from patients with urinary tract infection

Introduction: Recentlly, resistance to antibiotics has increased and antibiotic-resistant strains producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) have emerged among Enterobacteriaceae, mainly in Escherichia coli (E. coli). In this study we aimed to determine phenotypic and genotypic ESBL production in isolated E. coli from women with urinary tract infection (UTI). Materials and Methods: In...

Genomic landscape of extended-spectrum β-lactamase resistance in Escherichia coli from an urban African setting

Objectives Efforts to treat Escherichia coli infections are increasingly being compromised by the rapid, global spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Whilst AMR in E. coli has been extensively investigated in resource-rich settings, in sub-Saharan Africa molecular patterns of AMR are not well described. In this study, we have begun to explore the population structure and molecular determina...
